After last week's avalanche of goodies, I appreciated the books that did make it in this week! Here are the books that have arrived since December 27th:
Wednesday the 30th -
- ARC of One Amazing Thing by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni . You can request your own copy while supplies last at:
- Give God a Year book and kit, ordered from Amazon.com as a New Year's gift to myself. I've gotten really off track in my weight loss/maintenance efforts, and I hope this will help. I want to get back to a more balanced life, as was seen in my now out-of-date blog, First Place Victory. The kit comes with Carole Lewis' book Give God a Year, a motivational 365-day tear off calendar, fridge magnet, coffee mug, audio CD from Carole, journal & pen. For more information on First Place 4 Health, the program associated with this kit, go to FirstPlace4Health.com.
- Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater, won in a Twitter giveaway. Thanks, @Scholastic!
Thursday the 31st -
- Hook & Jill, sent over by Riane Herlihy at Publishing Works, Inc. If you'd like to make yourself available to read & review books for her, she has a group set up on Book Blogs. To see if her company has books in your interest area, take a look at the company catalog:

I hope everyone had a marvelous New Years' Eve and and I wish many blessings to you in this new year and decade. I don't know what you experienced, but the past year and decade has been rough. I feel hopeful that good times are ahead, not to mention lots of fun books to read and review!
Nice! I'll be looking for your review of Hook and Jill--I haven't seen it before & it looks very intriguing!
ReplyDeleteA nice mix of books - enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI got One Amazing Year too. Doesn't it look good? I love the guide they sent with it. Happy Reading.
ReplyDeleteKaty: Yes, I hadn't seen it until recently. I'm a huge Peter Pan fan and can't wait to dive into this one. Have you delved into the Peter and the Starcatchers series?
ReplyDeleteBermuda: It does look good! I like the little book/guide that came with it, too. I haven't decided if I'm going to write in it yet...
One Amazing Thing looks so good.
ReplyDeleteDiane: I like the cover art, too!
ReplyDeleteI received One Amazing Thing too. I liked that little discussion boklet. That is the first I have heard of Hook and Jill but it sounds very interesting. I am going to check out Give God a Year. I need some motivation in that department. Enjoy all your new books!
ReplyDeleteAnother One Amazing Thing recipient here. Looks like a great book!
ReplyDeleteOoh, I hope you enjoy Shiver! And I love the cover for Hook & Jill. Sounds good!
ReplyDeleteNikki:
ReplyDeleteI really want to start Shiver, but it may be a little while. I've got other books in line that have to be read for publishers. Fortunately, Hook & Jill is one of them. I must say that cover art is amazing. I would have read it anyway (being a huge Peter Pan fan), but the art made it that much more appealing. I'm a sucker for that stuff!

Hook and Jill looks amazing! I am going to go check out that group. Wow - thanks! :)
ReplyDeleteSheila:
ReplyDeleteI know, it really does look amazing! I think that's going to be my next book after I finish The Gospel According to Lost.
And I'm sure the Publishing Works group would love to have a blogger of your caliber-- go on over!

The Give God a Year kit sounds really interesting. Enjoy all your new books!

ReplyDeleteYes, I've been enjoying the kit. Yesterday's Thought of the Day from the tear-off calendar was:
